MARK LEWIS

Born in Westmoreland, Jamaica, his journey began on local courts and steadily evolved through school and club competition—both regionally and internationally—culminating in appearances at elite tournaments, including major multi-sport Games.

What distinguishes Mark is not only his longevity as an athlete, but his seamless transition into leadership. Having experienced the sport at every level, he brings a rare, 360-degree perspective to volleyball—one shaped by firsthand understanding of athletes’ needs, the demands of high performance, and the importance of strong governance.

Now based in Barbados, Mark has become a driving force behind the development of beach volleyball, playing a central role in strengthening the national program and nurturing the next generation of athletes. His work goes beyond the sand, as he is also a respected voice for administrative reform, championing more effective, transparent, and sustainable management practices within sporting organizations.

Mark currently serves as an elected executive member of both the Barbados Volleyball Association and the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA), where he holds the roles of Technical Director for Beach Volleyball (Barbados) and Chairman of the Beach Commission (CAZOVA). In these capacities, he continues to influence the growth of the sport across the region, fostering collaboration and raising standards.

At the heart of Mark’s journey is a simple but powerful belief: that sport can transform lives and unite communities. Guided by a commitment to continuous learning and opportunity creation, he remains dedicated to empowering athletes and strengthening volleyball throughout the Caribbean.
