After a 25-year career in corporate telecommunications, Kennedy McGowan retired to spend more time with his family in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and Canada.
Since 1990, Kennedy McGowan has played a leading role in revitalizing and developing volleyball and beach volleyball in the Cayman Islands as a national team player and sports administrator. For 30+ years he served in numerous roles on the Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation (CIVF) Board of Administration and retired as President in 2025. His commitment and dedication to sport helped volleyball become a Cayman Islands government-designated focus sport in 2020.
Kennedy continues to support the growth and promotion of volleyball in the Cayman Islands and the region to help achieve shared goals and objectives of the FIVB’s strategic development plans. He serves as an advisor to the CIVF and is a member of the NORCECA Board of Administration.
